Georgia is already one of Europe’s cheapest destinations, but when you visit makes a noticeable difference in flight prices, hotel rates, and crowd levels. Here’s the month-by-month breakdown.
The short answer
November, late February, and March are the cheapest months overall. Flights drop, hotels are half-price, and you’ll have Tbilisi’s old town largely to yourself. The trade-off: it’s cold (but Georgia does cold beautifully — think wine bars, sulfur baths, and snow-capped Caucasus views).
Season by season
Spring (March – May): best value + great weather
March is still cool but cheap. April and May are arguably the perfect months: warm (18–24°C in Tbilisi), wildflowers in the mountains, moderate prices, and far fewer tourists than summer. Flights from Europe run $150–300 round trip on Wizz Air.
Best for: Tbilisi, Kakheti wine region, early Kazbegi hiking.
Summer (June – August): peak season
Warmest weather (30–35°C in Tbilisi, perfect 20–25°C in the mountains). This is when flights and hotels are most expensive — but “expensive” in Georgia means hotel prices go from $25 to $45 for a double room. Flights spike to $250–500 from major European cities.

Autumn (September – November): shoulder season gem
September is still warm and the grape harvest (rtveli) season in Kakheti — the best time for wine tourism. October brings autumn colors. November is the cheapest month overall: tourists leave, prices drop, and Tbilisi is moody and atmospheric.

Winter (December – February): ski + city cheapest
