Albania has kept growing in popularity as a lower-cost, less-crowded alternative to Croatia and Greece. Here’s what’s current for 2026.
Entry & visa status
Most EU, US, UK, and Israeli passport holders can still enter Albania visa-free for up to 90 days within a 180-day period — no change here.
What’s changed recently
The Albanian Riviera has continued to see new boutique hotel openings, particularly around Ksamil and Dhermi, though prices remain well below equivalent Croatian coastline. Tirana’s cafe and nightlife scene has also kept expanding.
Cost check
Albania remains one of the most affordable coastal destinations in Europe, though popular Riviera towns do see a real price jump in July-August.
