Armenia has been quietly gaining attention as travelers look for a Caucasus destination that feels less discovered than Georgia. Here’s what’s current for 2026.
Entry & visa status
Most EU, US, UK, and Israeli passport holders can enter Armenia visa-free or via a straightforward e-visa, with many nationalities getting up to 180 days visa-free — among the most generous allowances in the region.
What’s changed recently
Yerevan’s hospitality scene has continued to develop, with more boutique guesthouses and specialty coffee shops opening steadily. Flight connectivity has also improved slightly, with more routes now connecting Yerevan to European hubs than a couple of years ago, though it’s still less connected than Tbilisi.
Cost check
Armenia remains one of the more budget-friendly countries in the Caucasus, generally on par with or slightly below Georgia for food and accommodation — still a meaningful value gap versus Western Europe.
